In late 2009, United Tool & Mold opened a service center in Rainbow City, Alabama, near Gadsden. This 4,500 square foot facility is equipped with a 5 Ton overhead crane, along with numerous Bridgeport mills, lathes, and grinders. With the opening of this service center, UTM now services Alabama, Western Georgia, and Western Tennessee.
United Tool & Mold felt that to further the motto of Keeping the Plastics Industry Running, we needed to have a plant centrally located to all of our customers. While our plants in Easley and Duncan have led us to be able to service our current customer base, we felt that we needed a plant that would also serve our growing number of customers in Alabama and Western Tennessee.
In the same way as our 2 plants in south Carolina, the employees of our Alabama service center are dedicated to meeting the customer needs, regardless of time constraints. Their dedication has allowed us to further to add to our RHINO mentality.
Our new service center was established to be able to provide the same just-in-time emergency repairs and service-on-site repairs that we offer in our other plants. While we continue to grow our service center, we still rely on both the Duncan and Easley plants to help with engineering changes and larger tooling.
